    Rudra is Lord Shiva. The praise of the word Rudra is found in religious texts. This term has been mentioned several times in the Yajurveda. Rudrhatadhyayi is considered to be an organ of Yajurveda. Rudra means Root and Root, which means destroying the sorrows, that which destroys the sorrows, that is Rudra, which means Lord Shiva, because they destroy the misery of all the world and welfare of the world. In Laghu Rudra Pujan & Havan Lord Shiva is worshipped in His Rudra form. The Laghu Rudra Puja is considered one of the most meritorious Pujas that is dedicated to Lord Shiva after the Maha Rudra Puja. In this Puja rudraabhishekam in done along with chanting of hymns dedicated to Lord Shiva from the Vedas. Eleven Ekadasa Rudram along with Rudra Homam is regarded as Laghu Rudram. Also one Ekadasa Rudram is equivalent to 11 recitations of the Sri Rudram and one recitation of the Chamakam.
