    Meera (Mira Bai) was a Hindu mystic poetess and an intense devotee of Lord Krishna. She was one of the most renowned Sants of the Vaishnava bhakti movement. Some 1,300 pads (poems) commonly known as bhajans (sacred songs) are credited to her. These are admired throughout India and have been translated and available worldwide. In the bhakti tradition, they are in fanatical praise of Lord Krishna. In most of her works, she describes her absolute love for her Lord and promotes Krishna bhakti as the best way of existence because it helps us overlook our desires. A number of devotional poems in adoring praise of Lord Krishna are credited to Meera in the Indian tradition. the message of freedom, her determination and right to follow her devotion to deity Krishna and her religious beliefs as she felt haggard to despite her maltreatment. The bhajans speak the language of love and devotion.
